Self-Guided Learning Through Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Whether the public can see it or not, the education system is undergoing a transformation, and it will look drastically different than what we have known. This change has been in the making for years, with questions arising about the effectiveness of standardized testing, class size, personalized lessons, and much more. However, with the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics now making it into the classroom and homes of students, we are just beginning to see the biggest change yet.

It is time for a new approach to education and artificial intelligence, with a major focus being put on a new category led by ROYBI in this transformative field: “Self-Guided Learning Through AI.”

How Roybi Robot is Leading in This New Era

A big portion of self-guided learning takes place outside of the official classroom. That is why homework assignments have been used traditionally to allow students to repeat and practice what they have learned in the classroom, and also, develop self-discipline, self-reliance, and independent thinking. Roybi Robot encompasses this new idea of self-guided learning through AI and goes a step further, to use technology to assist students and teachers in a more efficient way.

While Roybi Robot is not intended to replace the role of in-person instruction, it can allow any environment to become an extension of the classroom. Being able to guide oneself through some portion of the learning process is an opportunity that every student would benefit from in our current unequal distribution of academic resources. It also greatly increases the effectiveness that a single instructor can have. For example, through the use of Roybi Robot, a teacher located anywhere around the world can teach any number of students without the restriction of classroom walls. On top of that, teachers can use the technology to track all of the students’ progress in one place

Educational robots provide a variety of different ways for students to learn STEM disciplines and languages. There are a few main reasons kids learn better from robots than traditional methods, and much research has been done on the topic. The use of educational robots is more likely to elicit from the user beneficial behaviors for learning. They are perceived to be more engaging and enjoyable than virtual agents like tablets and computers.

Research has also suggested that users respond and comply much more with physical robots compared to a video representation of the same robot. This technology has shown to produce more rapid learning in cognitive puzzles than virtual characters, videos of robots, or audio-only lessons. One comprehensive review undertaken by a group of researchers found that the physical presence of a robot resulted in positive perceptions and increased task performance compared to virtual agents or robots displayed on screens.

Roybi Robot is adaptable, conversational, and grows along with its user, acting as that one-on-one tutor that very few children could benefit from before this type of technology. One of the most significant impacts of self-guided learning through AI is that it will merge traditional classroom education with online or self-directed learning.

Self-guided learning through AI can bring us into a new era of education, one where children remain students throughout their entire life, no matter where they are in the world, and one that turns every environment into a potential opportunity for learning through fun & play. Imagine a world where AI is used in our education system to free up teachers so they can focus on the most critical skills for any learner’s development: critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
