Robots Develop Language, Communication, and Autonomy in Early Learners

In an age in which technology is becoming increasingly intertwined into our everyday lives, using robots to teach children is just a natural progression. Indeed, given that many children use various types of technology on the daily basis, utilizing robots to help teach them can be a fun and exciting way to inspire learning. Not only can you talk and type to them, but by using a variety of associated online platforms, children are learning the difference between posting on a platform such as Facebook as opposed to Twitter. For instance, many teachers are creating accounts for their robots on Youtube, Twitter, Facebook. This allows students to follow and learn more about the various platforms simply by keeping tabs on their robot teacher.


While interacting with the robots during instruction time, children will learn to become more self-autonomous. This is because robots are programmed to give students various tasks that test their autonomy and get progressively more challenging as time goes on. Furthermore, they are also able to magnify their strengths through this process as it allows children to discover their own talents. For instance, while some children may take to writing things down, others may prefer to speak them aloud. The robot teacher will help them to elevate their strengths while also strengthening the areas they’re weak in. Over time, children become confident enough to think for themselves and solve their own issues rather than feeling the need to ask the teacher for help on every little thing.

Overall, using robots to teach young children is an innovative way to get students more enthusiastic about learning. Not only can they boost autonomy, and communication, but they can also prove to be instrumental in helping children to develop a more profound vocabulary from an early age.
