Contract position, about 10-15 hours/week

We are looking for a part-time CFO on contract in the Bay Area to join our team and take us to the next level.


  • Must have past experience working with companies that manufacture hardware
  • Bonus points if you’ve also worked with an early-stage tech startup and retail distribution
  • Must have cross-border consolidation experience particularly in China
  • Provide guidance and work on the Company’s forecast, P&L, budget planning, review financial documents and help with financial negotiations with partners, distributors, and retailers
  • Provide leadership, direction, and management of the finance and accounting team
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team
  • Hands-on collaboration with our team to keep our books up to date
  • Advising on long-term business and financial planning
  • Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders
  • Reviewing all formal finance, HR and IT related procedures
  • Must have experience preparing and forecasting financial documents for startup companies to help them raise next rounds of financing from venture capital firms

Experience and Qualifications

  • M.B.A. or M.S. in Finance or Accounting; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years experience as a CFO, with at least three of those years working for a startup
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication: the ability to translate high-level financial data to the team and present to the ROYBI executive team and board
  • A collaborative approach to executive leadership, ability to work with cross-functional teams and in different time zones occasionally
